Easter Seals Honors Loyal Supporters And Gets a Surprise Gift Team Hoyt Awards were presented to Theodore E. Charles, vice chair of the Easter Seals board, and CVS Caremark, a loyal corporate sponsor of Easter Seals for the last decade. Charles and CVS were recognized for their support for equal opportunities for people with disabilities. Dominic Mondon-Poirier, 15, was the winner of the Team Hoyt Rising Star Award, which recognizes young men and women with disabilities who are the leaders of tomorrow. The event also honored the awards’ namesakes, Dick and Rick Hoyt, as they prepared for the Boston Marathon their 1,000th race on April 20. During the ceremony, the Hoyts surprised Easter Seals President Kirk Joslin with a check for $25,000 from the Hoyt Foundation. “The Hoyts’ generosity will touch countless lives,” Easter Seals President Kirk Joslin said. “With inspiring leadership from Team Hoyt and supports from Easter Seals, children and adults with disabilities will continue to break down barriers and participate in every aspect of life.” Dick and Rick Hoyt have been part of Easter Seals for more than 35 years and ran their 25th Boston Marathon in 2006 to benefit Easter Seals services. Dick Hoyt has been the honorary chairman of Walk With Me fundraisers, and Rick has demonstrated assistive technology at several Easter Seals events.
