Applying for Easter Seals camps
Leaders in Training Small stipends are paid to youth who participate in this program offered at Agassiz Village, serving as an introduction to the benefits of employment. Teen Leaders are responsible for assisting with the day-to-day activities of camp life; including assisting campers’ needs, leading camp activities, supporting kitchen and office staff, serving as lifeguards (if certified) and support staff at the waterfront. Such responsibilities give youth opportunities to better understand their strengths and weakness, as well as develop confidence, self-reliance and leadership skills.
Easter Seals has a long-standing collaboration with Agassiz Village which offers a unique camp experience.

2009 Session dates for Agassiz Village are:
5 day overnight sessions A: July 6-10 B: July 13-17 C: July 20-24 D: July 27-31
12 day overnight sessions Session 1: July 6-17 Session 2: July 20-31
Explorers Session August 3-7th
Explorers Session: This overnight camp session at Agassiz Village is geared toward the needs of youth with autism spectrum disorders and other social challenges. Camp activities are facilitated in small group settings amongst a high staff to camper ratio to allow for maxim participation. Siblings of campers with disabilities are welcome to attend during this session

This program is part of a network of 26 Easter Seals Camp Friendly’s programs serving children and teenagers with disabilities supported by Friendly’s restaurants and their customers.
